TEMPER: The Story Behind Our Second Collection
05/09/2026

There is a tenderness to growth that often goes unseen.

One year ago, we launched LAMIDE SADIPE with Chrysalis, a collection rooted in transformation. It represented the years of work that happened before anyone knew our name. The development, experimentation and persistence required to turn an idea into something real.

A year later, we find ourselves in a very different season. Our first year has given us so much to celebrate. We have watched women choose LAMIDE SADIPE for weddings, birthdays and some of the most meaningful moments of their lives. Our pieces have travelled beyond Lagos, entered new wardrobes and introduced us to a growing community of women around the world.

But growth rarely happens in a straight line. Behind every milestone has been another lesson. There have been ideas that worked and others that didn't. Production challenges. Financial pressures. Difficult decisions. Moments of uncertainty. Plans that had to change. Opportunities that didn't materialise in the way we hoped. And the constant challenge of building something while simultaneously learning how to build it.

That has been one of the greatest lessons of our first year: growth doesn't simply change you. It tests you.

And that is where TEMPER began.

Why TEMPER?

Tempering is a process used to strengthen materials through controlled heating and cooling. The material is exposed to extreme conditions, but the purpose isn't to destroy it. Through the process, its properties change. It becomes stronger and better equipped for what is required of it. There was something about that idea that felt remarkably similar to this season of LAMIDE SADIPE.

This past year has required us to adapt, refine and become more resilient. Not by abandoning what we set out to create, but by understanding it more deeply.

If Chrysalis represented transformation in stillness, TEMPER represents what comes next: resilience shaped through experience.

And you can see that evolution within the clothes themselves. For the first time, we move beyond our signature gowns and introduce separates. We developed bespoke prints, explored new forms of drapery and pushed our hand-pleating techniques further. Soft chiffon sits alongside luminous mikado and sculptural fabrics, creating a collection built around the tension between softness and structure, fluidity and precision.

The collection has grown because we have grown.

The Journey Behind the Milestone

LAMIDE SADIPE has always been a brand about celebration.

We believe in dressing up. In the anticipation of getting ready. In finding the piece that makes you feel incredible before you've even left the room. And in clothing becoming part of the memories we carry with us long after an occasion has ended.

But one year into this journey, our understanding of celebration has evolved.

We have realised that the milestone itself is only part of the story.

Behind the promotion is the work that came before it. Behind the birthday is another year lived. Behind the wedding is the journey that brought two people together. Behind the achievement are the setbacks, decisions, risks and moments when continuing required something more from you.

TEMPER is a celebration of that journey.

It is for the woman who arrives at life's defining moments carrying everything it took to get there.

Because perhaps the most meaningful celebrations aren't simply about where we have arrived.

They are about recognising what shaped us along the way.

One Year In

As we enter our second year, we aren't the same brand that launched Chrysalis.

We're still learning. Still refining. Still ambitious. And still building towards the vision that started LAMIDE SADIPE in the first place.

But we're stronger in our understanding of who we are, more intentional about where we're going, and more prepared for everything building this brand will continue to ask of us.

There will be more challenges. There will also be more milestones.

And we'll keep dressing for them.

With Love,
LS
